Soloshow at Galleri Semmingsen, Oslo during February, 2025

The exhibition is inspired by encounters with raw nature—mountains, elements, caves, and historical traces from the Stone Age—and presents several new series of paintings and drawings in various formats and materials. Among the materials used are magnesium, pastel chalk, canvas, black paper, car paint, aluminum, and aluminum paint.

The motifs are brought forth through chemical processes, tactile interaction with the surface, light reflections, and the body’s movements in space—from fingertips to stone.

Colors and light emerge from the darkness.

The works are rooted in a long-term, direct study of Stone Age petroglyphs (stone carvings) in Fontainebleau, France, and a close collaboration with archaeologists from Norway, France, Romania, and South Africa. They draw on a scientific perspective while harnessing the aura and atmosphere surrounding historical findings, petroglyphs, and caves.
